Tata Tea's landmark campaign "Har Subah Sirf Utho Mat, Jaagore!" has been encouraging citizens to participate in the change that they want to see since 2007. Through the years it has acted as an enabling catalyst on the issue of exercising voting rights, saying NO to corruption and now on galvanizing people to contribute to the social causes that they believe in.
www.jaagore.com has been redesigned with the sole purpose of catapulting the Social Awakening' platform into reality - by providing a unique online collaborative opportunity that enables citizens to do Social Good'. The portal seeks to herald a new movement of change by establishing a two-way contact between the citizens and the agencies who are working for any social cause a first in India. It facilitates the flow of information and resources between individuals / groups / organizations by bringing together, onto a common platform, those who possess info and resources and those who need them.
"This is a first in the online domain in India a platform that enables citizens to "be the change that they want to see" by volunteering their time to contribute to causes that they believe in and all of it at the convenience of a click", explains Sangeeta Talwar, Executive Director, South-Asia, Tata Global Beverages.
In the few months since its launch, the portal has gathered over 2.5 lakh visits and has seen a registration of 16,000+ users. Almost 70 credible NGO's have become our online partners and have contributed more then 150 volunteering opportunities that citizens could be part of. The site has seen more than 350 people volunteering for various projects.
This redesigned web portal is supported by campaign which asks citizens to "Join the Jaago Re Movement on jaagore.com because your spare time is all that your country needs." The four-pronged mantra to become an active champion of change is to Act, Learn, Speak up & Connect. The site enables every citizen to contribute & participate' by providing a pool of NGO requirements that could be sorted by time available, location or the issue.
Jaagore.com has been leading active conversations around social change with youth in the online space through social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Orkut) and through an active Jaagore Blog.
