It's time to start thinking about booking a family holiday again and give everyone something to look forward to during the winter months.
The recession has meant many people have cut back on luxuries to save pennies, but with so many great deals available, family holidays needn't cost the earth.

For many people on family holidays, a break wouldn't really be a break without some serious sunshine, and this means heading abroad to Europe where you are practically guaranteed sunshine during the summer months. European destinations are great for family holidays and life on the continent is often much more family-orientated than it is here in Britain. Children stay entertained building sandcastles, looking for rock pools and meeting other children on holiday, while you sit back and relax under a parasol reading a good book.
On the continent, children are taken into restaurants late at night and socialising can be more family-orientated than it is here in Britain, meaning you can sip cocktails late into the evening while the children make friends.
There are resorts in these countries to suit all tastes in family holidays and, while visiting a foreign destination does increase your chances of non-stop sunshine, don't write off Britain as a place to enjoy for a holiday also.
There are beautiful beaches and fascinating coastline, and a wealth of activities and theme parks to enjoy and keep the children entertained. Why not rent a little cottage somewhere near the coast and enjoy long walks and picnics, giving you quality time away from the television as a family and rediscovering the simple pleasures in life?
