Is There A Laser Treatment For Foot Fungus?

Fungus loves dark and damp places. In fact, the feet are very common breeding places of fungus especially if they are not taken cared of properly. Once fungi settle, it is oftentimes very hard to get rid of them especially if you still keep on doing things that must not be done like wearing damp socks or walking on wet floors. However, the existence of fungi on the feet should not spell the end of the world for you since there are treatments available.

If your fungal infection is not severe, you can use anti-fungal creams in order to relieve you of the itchy feeling. You can always find these creams in your local drug stores. Once you feel the symptoms, applying anti-fungal creams could prevent the condition from worsening.

In severe cases, your doctor may prescribe anti-fungal pills, since a topical medicine may no longer be applicable. Just make sure that you dont self-prescribe medicines or else you run the risk of suffering from some side effects.

Both anti-fungal creams and pills may be effective but do not constitute a fast treatment. In fact, a lot of people would like to have laser treatment for foot fungus knowing that laser treatments give instant relief to any ailment or skin disease. Laser procedures dont last very long, some actually last for several minutes only.

However, there has not yet been a proven laser treatment for foot fungus. True, there are currently patents of different laser treatments that are aimed to cure foot fungus but there hasnt been one that is commercially available or used by podiatrists. Generally, most people suffering from foot fungus turn to either anti-fungal creams or anti-fungal pills. Although, the laser type of treatment, would be embraced by the majority if ever there would be one that shall be approved by the FDA.

The only thing that is widely accepted right now is laser treatment for toenail fungus. This laser treatment has already been widely used and has produced positive results. Even with the high cost of this type of treatment, a lot of people opt for it due to the effective way it cures toenail fungus.
