A watch is accurate timing equipment, people focus mainly on the quality. So, how to choose a good and satisfying watch? Generally, customers judge the quality mainly with the sound of watch hands' walking, which is unreasonable. The quality of a watch, indeed, is mainly up to the walking accuracy. The balanced, clear sound with no noise just proves that there is nothing wrong with the watch, but can not be taken as the only way to test the quality and make a good choice. Check the exterior spare parts.
You can check the watch case, mirror, plate and the hands of hour, minute and second.
No blister and distinct scratches, symmetrical;
The rear cover should be tight with upper case; the two watch rings are in the same distance to the case,
No flaw and scratch on the mirror, lucent and bright;
The three hands are under right installation, safe gap should exist among three hands, also the mirror and plate;
The plate and hands are well plated with no spot and stain, the plate scale line or the luminous point is complete;
There are 0.1-0.3mm gap between the head and the case.
Check the sensitivity
The watch sensitivity is the flexibility of its pendulum. We can check as the following:
1) Lightly shake the unwound and static watch, observe the hands walking with the shaking power:
If the second hand stops in soon, the watch can go down after full-winding, high sensitive;
If the second hand keeps going for a long time, the watch can not go down after full-winding, low sensitivity or the watch is in malfunction.
2) Slowly turn the head of unwound and stopped watch, observe the starting of second hand:
If the second hand starts with little turning, the watch is in high sensitivity; on the contrary it is in low sensitivity and with other flaws.
But be aware that the fast pendulum watch, due to its rigid hair wire, it needs more winding to start than the watch of traditional frequency(18000 times/hour). The high sensitive watch can go for a long period after full winding.
Check the distance between the hands and the locations.
There should be certain distance among hands and mirror, plates and the three hands, otherwise, they would collide and brush to affect the normal walking.
We can move the hands to observe.
The way to check whether the hour hand and minute hand is in agreement: move the hour hand and minute hand separately to three and nine observe whether they form a right angle; and to six, whether the two hands form a straight line; and to twelve, whether the two hands coincide.
Check the winding part.
Winding a normal watch is easy. Easy to begin the turning, then gradually tighter and tighter, till the head can not be turned, the watch has been fully wound and winding machine in good order. If during the turning, strange noise sounds like "kaka", or the apical tooth skids, the winding machine is in malfunction.
Check the hand-moving machine.
During the hand moving, the watch should be elastic, secure and with balanced hand turning. Focus on the tightness of minute wheel and central axle.
If there is no feeling of too loose or too tight during the hand moving, the minute wheel is in normal friction and well oiled, otherwise, the hand moving part is in trouble.
