Insights On Making Your Outsourcing Providers Count

Insights On Making Your Outsourcing Providers Count

When someone joins our SEO services team as an outsourcer

, they get sent some documentation including a list of the expectations we have of our employees and the expectations they can have of me. That gets sent to them before they even start as outsourcing providers. Then they get a welcome call so we schedule that welcome call. They've already had a chance to review all the documentation.

Usually they'll fill it all out, they'll scan it in, they will send it back to me as a PDF or to the project manager. It'll get printed out and I have a copy that I file away in their file. Everybody who works with me gets their own file just where I keep all my documentation, and one on ones documentation. I pull out that documentation and go through it in that interview call. We review all the documents together. This practice will help avoid the cons of outsourcing.

We talk about the basics of the day, which is, you'll have a start of day call and you will have an end of day email. Every day they will check in. Then we'll introduce their supervisor. So I'm the face and they will get a chance to get a feel for the culture because it's important that you lead by example and you let that filter down. So I want to start off on the right foot and make sure they're happy to meet those expectations even when having their SEO training.

I ask them if there are any other expectations that they feel that I have not covered, then they will let me know that as well. Then I will introduce them to their supervisor who is usually a person who works with me in at the office, the person they will be checking in with for their work as outsourcing providers on a regular basis. We also add them to the website. This is just something to make them feel like they're part of the team.

We'll ask them to submit a little bio about them and add that to the website. Everybody gets a place on that page. It just makes them feel like they're part of a team now. I want them to feel confident that they are coming on board, they are part of the family now. I'll look after them and then, in exchange, I'm expecting they're going to look after me.

On the website I don't mention that they are Filipino, I just say what they are, their position in my SEO company, their role as one of the outsourcing providers, which is he or she is a content writer. Let's have a look at one. There you go, article writer/editor. 'Manuel has a background in corporate marketing and web writing. He has a degree in Journalism which he has put to use for a leading newspaper. For the past two years he has been working in the field of SEO and online marketing.'
