...Which means that your student can start taking advantage of these powerful review secrets!
*Teach your child that when it comes to guesstimating on the math section of the HSPT test or COOP exam, the middle is the safest place to be! Here's what we mean by this: instead of taking the time to figure out the answer manually, teach them the art of plugging in the answer choices. Most importantly, make sure they always start in the middle. If the answer is too big, the correct answer is one of the first two choices; if it's too small, one of the latter two choices are correct!
*Quickly eliminating the wrong answer choices is key in guesstimating quickly and accurately. Teach your child to recognize key clues of incorrect answer choices, including words like "always", "never", "everyone", "no one" and other similar words.
*On these exams, the art of guesstimating should take no more than thirty seconds per question. Now, this might not seem like much, but it's easy to eliminate the obvious wrong answer choices within a few seconds, and then plug in some answer choices.
*Above all, teach your child to simply pick a choice if they don't know the correct answer. After all, unlike traditional exams, your child won't be penalized for getting an incorrect answer!
