How to clean your teeth properly

How to clean your teeth properly

Cleaning teeth is such a common and basic process but most of us do not even know how to clean our teeth properly. According to some of the recent studies, brushing and flossing your teeth regularly will have a strong positive impact on your lifespan. It can even extend your life by six or seven years! Correct flossing helps in eliminating bacteria between your teeth that can enter the blood stream and cause severe infection or diseases.

Few tips on how to clean your teeth

Here are a few steps on how to clean your teeth properly so that they look healthy, shining and sparkling!

1. Always rinse your mouth with mouthwash before cleaning your teeth. Swish the mouthwash around your mouth. This helps in removing some of the surface bacteria and food particles. After swishing the mouthwash around your mouth, spit it out and get prepared to brush.

2.Put a very small quantity of toothpaste i.e; about a dime-sized squirt of toothpaste on the brush. This is all that is required for brushing your teeth.

3. Begin by brushing your teeth in an up and down motion. Brush your teeth in this manner for at least two minutes.

4. Then, brush your teeth from side to side. Continue brushing your teeth in this way.

5. Brush the top and back of your teeth. It has been found that most people forget to brush the backs of their teeth. However, this is the region where much of the plaque settles down. Do ensure that you brush the back of your teeth daily. This helps in preventing tooth decay and bad breath. And remember to brush the top and bottom of your teeth too.

6. Rinse your mouth properly after you've done with your brushing. Use dental floss to floss thoroughly between each tooth.

7 After flossing, rinse your mouth with mouthwash one more time in order to eliminate all the loose particles you've removed with the dental floss. Do make sure that you always clean your teeth correctly like this at least once a day or twice a day at least .
