Judge the Club While They Judge You
Armed with this information, you can evaluate the club and its owners even as they're evaluating your performance. You can ask questions about their conformity to the codes and watch other women as they work. Keep your eyes peeled as you perform. If what you're seeing doesn't conform with the letter of the law, you shouldn't work there.
Watching the other dancers work gives you the advantage of seeing what happens "on the sly," possibly even without the knowledge of the managers. There's no doubt that stripping is a highly competitive environment, and unfortunately there are dancers who have few qualms about crossing those legal boundaries to make more money.
Though it unfortunately isn't always the case, strip club management will very likely frown on such indiscretionsthey do nothing good for the reputation of the club, or for you and your fellow dancers. You can get a good feel about a club's practices when you talk to the other dancers. If they suggest that you cross the line of legality to make more money, you can bet that you'll have problems with the authorities working at this club. Move on to the next club on your list, and save yourself from some considerable headaches.
In the end, it's well worth your time to thoroughly investigate any club that you're going to work in. It doesn't always happen that an apparently high-class environment means a high-class establishment. You can't rely on the superficial appearance of a strip club to judge it as a good place to work anymore than you can rely on the dcor of a restaurant to reflect on the quality of its food. A little bit of preliminary caution can save a lot of work on damage control later.
