Springtime is definitely the best season of the year to spend some time with your dog in the great outdoors. It is neither too cold nor too hot, and it comes just after winter, which most of us spend mostly indoors. There are really all kinds of fun outdoor activities that can only be done in the spring, and many more still that can be done all year, but are best done in spring.
Dogs are just like people in that they need exercise to stay healthy, if taking you dog on long daily walks around the neighborhood is a little to redundant for you, you might want to spice up your dog's cardio workout with a hike down a hiking trail or in a dog park. Hiking trails offer a nice change of scenery, and often a more physically challenging workout for you and your dog. There are different restrictions though for different trails, before you choose a trail you need to find out if there are any restrictions on taking dogs on it.
Another alternative to the regular walk around the neighborhood is the dog park. This can really be a lot of fun for both of you. Your dog can play with other dogs, and burn a lot of energy without you having to sweat it out. You'll also get the chance to meet fellow dog lovers like yourself, so it can also be a nice social activity for you. Make sure you know the policies at the park you plan to take your dog to. You may have to keep you dog on a leash at all times; some parks even specify the length of the leash. There will also be strict guidelines on disposal of waste.
The world is becoming more and more pet friendly, and with a bit of resourcefulness, you can find a lot of great places to take you dog for a nice romp.
