How to Plan Kids Birthday Parties

How to Plan Kids Birthday Parties

It can be a bit of a stressful task organising a child's birthday party. There's everything from themes, to yourkids clothes for the special occasion, to food and a guest list to arrange. By following these easy steps you'll find it can be a fun activity for both you and your child.

Choose the type of party you want

Picking a theme is fun and there are heaps of websites to help you out. For boys there is everything from pirate parties, superhero parties to outdoor activities. These all come with a fun dress up element too.

Some great ideas for girls parties include a fairy party or a princess party. For mixed parties a great idea is a mini olympic games party where children can play games and win prizes.

The best thing to do is talk to your child about what they want and go from there.

Choose the venue/partyhire company

Now you've got the theme, you have to choose the best place to host the event. Often the home is the best place for kids parties. However, if your low on space and would rather someone else do the clean up there are some great venues for kids parties which take care of everything once you've chosen a theme.

After you have looked at a few places, speak to your child and ask them where they would like to have their party.

Invitations and preparation

Depending on how old your child is you could ask him/her to help you write a guest list and create invitations to their party. This can be a fun activity you can both do together. Speaking to parents can often be the best way to find out if a child will be attending. Often if the child is very young, a parents tea and nibbles can be provided at the venue as the parents will want to stay while the party is on.

Also, it's a good idea to ask a friend or relative to help you on the day. Asking someone who is an expert in removing tomato sauce fromkids clothing is a good idea.

Charge all cameras the night before too as the last thing you want on the day is for the camera to run out of battery.

The importance of the RSVP

Depending on the age of your child, it might be a good idea to speak with their friends parents to confirm if they will be attending. It can often come at a cost if not all of the children show up to a venue. By speaking directly to the adults you can know for sure who has and who has not responded to the invitation.

Once all the preparation is done and the day arrives, try to enjoy it as much as possible. I hope our tips on how to plan a child's birthday party has helped you in planning a wonderful birthday celebration for your child.
