It would be fair to say that Seacrest sought wisdom, career advice, and eventually modeled his production company after Merv Griffin's company. Just like Seacrest had Griffin, you need a mentor.
The final thing that we can learn from Ryan Seacrest career is he has very good marketing instincts. The instincts also are reinforced through his work ethic. Specifically, Seacrest branded himself, and built an entertainment production company around his personal brand. According to a recent Forbes article, Seacrest's many projects reach 84 million people a week. Seacrest is behind the scenes, he's in front of the camera, he is behind the camera, and he understands wealth comes from multiple streams of income and ownership. Seacrest is also always performing market research. Seacrest has a direct relationship with his customer base. Seacrest twitters, he answers e-mails, and he communicates with live audiences. Whether it's taking phone calls on his radio show or engaging in conversations with live audiences, he is really tapped into the zeitgeist and current pop-culture, and delivers value to his audiences.
