How to Cope With a Break Up - 5 Proven Methods on Coping With a Break Up

Author: Denise Mah

You're probably here right now because you're desperate to completely move on and forget about that person that you once loved. How to cope with a break up is never easy. But you have to because if you don't, you'll only drown in sadness and pure loneliness. That's why this article will give you 5 proven methods to cope with it. The first step in moving on is acceptance. You should accept the fact that your past romance is now gone and is never coming back. Yes! Stop thinking that you will be together again because you will never move if you keep on thinking about that person that put you down. Whether it's a good or bad break up, it won't change a thing. Accept the truth that you are not together anymore. You may still love that person but that love will not fade unless you do something to abolish it. The second step in coping after a break up is to put away anything that could make you remember your ex. Gather all the letters, pictures, gifts, and all the other memorabilia and put them in a box. No, you don't need to dispose of the entire box right away. Just put everything in one box and put them somewhere you won't find right away. Burry the box if you want, lock it at the attic, or tell your best pal to hide it for you. Then, disconnect all your communications with your ex. No calls, no chat, no e-mails, mails, even text messages, and any other forms of communication you've been using before. Third, gather your friends and go on a trip. Coping with a break up won't be as easy as acceptance and boxing all the memories. You need to rejuvenate yourself. Live your life! Don't put your self in the same box you've kept your ex's memories. Get out of that box. Take your family to dinner or go to the beach with your friends. Fourth, divert your depression and push yourself to do something more productive. It might be depressing at first but you have to let your blood flow through your veins. Focus your attention on better things like work or studies. Find a job if you don't have one. Strive to get an award at school if you're still studying. Join a sport, any sport that would fit your capabilities. The more you sweat out your energy, the more you forget your misery. Finally, if you are serious on how to deal with a breakup, go and try something new! This is the best solution. Have fun! Invite your pal or your set of friends and ask them what could be a great new sensation you could try doing. It could be an extreme sport. How about sky diving or mountain climbing? Or try white water rafting! Immersing yourself in nature is a good way to empty yourself of the bad energies that piled up on you because of that break up. The sport doesn't really have to be extreme. You can choose something that would just let all your good energies replace negative ones until you're finally over your ex. About the Author:
