There is a bus stop in front of the departures terminal so you need to walk it from the arrivals terminal. Just go out of the terminal and walk to the right. It is not far but pretty annoying after a long flight with your luggage!The buses are frequent (20 to 30 minutes interval between one and the other) and the airport bus takes you directly to the Valletta bus terminus. All routes, with a few exceptions, head to the Valletta bus terminus. Once arrived in Valletta, look for bus number forty three. This is the main bus leading to Mellieha. The whole trip may take not more than two hours and it can be quite a pleasant trip since the bus passes through some interesting villages. The bus service operates till 9pm in Winter and 10pm-11pm (for some routes) in Summer, so if you miss the last bus, you need to wait for the early morning bus which is at 5.00am the following day! There is no bus service at the catamaran port.Mellieha is the northern part of Malta. Getting to Mellieha for a tourist can be a challenging task. With a taxi, rented car or airport transfer service it will be the easiest way to go to your hotel. By bus it can be fun but certainly not recommended if you are travelling with a luggage.
