First rule, make list of the things that you need so that you will not forget a single item that you will need for your vacation. Dont forget the accessories that can make your trip more enjoyable and stress-free. Keep your camera, maps as well as guidebooks so you wont miss anything.
Even you had the list of the things you need, you might still end up overstuffing! The second rule is segregate the things which are most important that you will be using almost everyday. Avoid carrying paraphernalia that would only add a bulk in your luggage. You dont need heavy makeup so dont carry your Loreal or Mac make up set there. For male travelers, its not an intelligent idea to bring your PSP or tab as you are there to enjoy with your friends and not to play your favorite Angry Bird series or Final fantasy battle.
Next step is carry only light and right clothes. It is a smart move to bring your clothes which are light, neutral in colors and are multi-purpose. Being fashionable is good, but when you are there you might think why you have brought them there.
For a successful Spring Break Travel, pack zip-off pants that have more pockets. They are easy to wash and very light to carry around.
Dont bring shoes that you wont need for your trip. If you are heading to a beach, then bringing your branded wedges and stilettos are not a good idea.
It is better to roll your clothes rather than folding them. They can save a lot of space in your luggage.
Keep your toiletries in small volumes. Dont forget your folding toothbrush, sachet packs of toothpaste as well as soaps, shampoos and conditioners.
You must have learned from your Spring Break 2012, and now that you are heading for your next tour dont forget also to choose the right bag for you. Choose a bag that has many compartments so you can pack everything in just a single suitcase. It is also wise to carry a handbag or a body bag where you can get your stuffs such as camera, passport, wallet, etc in a snap.
