They can also acquire it by touching or using personal items of their classmates, such as towels, combs and clothes. When children develop ringworm, parents and teachers should do a thorough inspection of the animals in their surroundings. Another important measure to be taken is to clean the area and keep it cool and dry. For schools and nurseries, children should never be allowed to go barefoot when they are inside the classroom, especially when using the common toilet.
Children should be informed about ringworm, the causes, symptoms and how to take the necessary care for it to heal more easily. If your child gets infected, apply anti-fungal cream and always keep the affected area clean.
