How To Celebrate A Cheap Halloween Party

Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the 31st of October

. It is great time for fun and entertainment for all children, including amusing activities such as trick or treat, playing pranks on one another, watching horror movies, wearing costumes, attending costume parties and lots more. If you are worried about making this a wonderful Halloween party, and want to keep things inexpensive as well, all you need is lots of creativity and spooky ideas. Here are a few:

Halloween decorations

Whether you are throwing a Halloween party or attending one, it is very important to set the atmosphere to get into the Halloween mood. There are many cheap ways of doing this.

Jack-o'-lanternHow To Celebrate A Cheap Halloween Party

Pumpkin carving- jack-o'-lanterns, are an ingenious idea for making Halloween a great occasion. Carve out a pumpkin from the local grocery store and light a candle inside. If carving takes too much time, paint freaky faces on it. After all what is Halloween without a jack-o'-lantern?

Spider webs

Add extra effects to your party by buying these spider webs, they are cheap and easy to find. Don't forget to buy ghoulish looking spiders to go along with your spider webs.

Lights

Lights can add a really cool and scary effect to your party. You can buy lots of candles, black bulbs, flash lights etc. Remember a dim light always works best to create a frightening atmosphere. Use your special lights along with some special sound effects, for the best results.

Fog Machine

There is nothing like a thick layer of fog at night, to scare the living daylights out of your guests. If you are going to set up some sort of graveyard, or doomsday theme, a fog machine will definitely come in handy. It instantly adds a scare to your Halloween festivities, and you are guaranteed to hear lots of bloodcurdling screams.

Costumes

There is no need to spend extravagantly on your costume this season, simply improvise on the costumes. Here are a few examples:

Ghosts

These are one of the most easiest costumes to make, cut some holes in a white sheet and draw on some spider webs, scary teeth, etc with a permanent marker, to make it look scary. And voila, you have yourself a cheap and haunting costume.

Mummy

Wrap yourself completely in white bandages, and use white make-up on your face. Don't forget to limp as you walk, for the added effect!

Clown

Use bright colored clothes, or decorate with fabric paint. Add some make-up, a cheap wig and a hat, huge shoes, remember to paint your nose red.

Hippie

Wear big, old, torn clothes and sandals along with a bandanna and cheap sun glasses to give the look of a riff raff. Keep your hair untidy, add some make-up and a fake beard or mustache.

Angel

This is another inexpensive idea, take a white sheet of cloth and spray it with some clear paint spray, and throw some silver or gold glitter before the paint dries completely. You can make the halo and the wings, by using some wire coat hangers.

The party

Thinking of some new and innovative ideas to make your Halloween party a fun filled experience? Here are a few suggestions:

Pumpkin painting - hand out a mini pumpkin to all the kids at your party, and have a count down race to the decorating table, giving them all 5 minutes to decorate their pumpkin, using paints, paint brushes, glitter etc. After the time is up, select the most creative, scary, pretty pumpkin and give prizes accordingly. Witch hunt - Just like a treasure hunt, kids race to find the witch dolls hidden around the house to win prizes. Winners can the be the ones, who find the maximum number of witches and those having specially decorated witches can get a different prize. Make the witches out of cardboard box paper and decorate with permanent markers and lots of colors.

Mummy wrappers - Divide the entire group into batches of three or four, and give them all a roll of toilet paper. One of them needs to pose as the mummy, while the rest of the group has to wrap the paper around the person. The group that finishes first wins.

Mask making - Take a batch of paper plates and cut holes with the help of a pair of scissors, to make the eyes and the mouth. Lay around decoration items such as paints, glitter, gel pens, markers, glue, ribbons etc. Give all the kids 15 minutes to make their mask, remember to give them adequate supplies and enough time to clean up before presenting their masks.
