Everybody has a different definition for the word SUCCESS. It all depends on what you really want to be in life. You see, we all are given only one chance to live in this world, so what matters most is what do you want to accomplish in your life?
If your goal in life is to become a teacher so that you can teach people how to live better in life, then that is your success goal in life. Others may want to become a doctor to help people to live a healthy life, then that will be the success goal.
So, what do you want to accomplish in your life? What is your life purpose? You should you that as the yardstick to measure your own success.
Remember that success is not merely the fulfilment of something because it is definitely bigger than making an accomplishment; it is fulfilling a goal and gaining immeasurable satisfaction from it.
There are small goals and big goals, and the categorization is subjective. You define what success means to you, because as long as you feel extraordinarily victorious about something that you have completed, then you can claim success over it.
Do not let other people define success for you because your definition of success can be totally different from other people. If you let other to define what is success for you, you will never achieve a true happiness and satisfaction even if you manage to achieve your goals.
When you work for something, make sure to do it for yourself and not for someone else. Personal success is something that you achieve on your own, first, and then eventually with the help of the people around you.

Learn to accept mistakes and failure, learn to forget the past and move toward your future goals by living in the presence. Do not get bogged down by your past or worried the future, just live your best now (the present moment).
Rule 3: Draw your own path to success. Having a plan does not necessarily mean that you should exactly keep at it the entire time, but drawing out definite goals will be great because it will always keep you on the right path. It is not impossible to go astray, so guide yourself by drawing a plan.
Rule 4: Open your mind to see the world. We are living in the world that has constant changes. Do not close your mind from changes, embrace them. If you are not open to changes, you will be wiped out by your competitors. You must always keep an open mind to see and learn new things to improve your life. Keep a positive outlook on things and you will attract good karma. Embrace things as they come and welcome it graciously.
Rule 5: Be gracious of what you have achieved but don't get too complacent. Be gracious that you are alive today and strive to live the best life you possibly could.
