Helping Your Kids When They Are Socially Out Of Tune
Children are not always alike. Some are very active and agile and others are simply not. Some children like to play with other, always ready to mix in others company. But there are children not very active and are socially clumsy. They are not good in play, feel difficulty in mixing with other children. These children dont even realize that how irritating their behavior is for others.
For some children it is quite difficult to develop social skills as easily as others. There can be different reasons for that. Parents should need to take a closer look of their child social problems or the factors that are making him socially out of tone. Your child definitely needs your help in this regard as he wants in other academic or health problems.
It is obvious that all the children go through conclusive phases of social development. Very young children or infants like to play alone and babbling to himself. And mostly dont like the presence of any other child. The next comes the phase when child is more than happy to play with one other child. This includes sharing of ideas, taking turns one by one or most probably sharing toys with each other. This phase also includes some fights, but you will see them playing again within an hour time. The next phase is when the group grows to two or three children.
These all social developments are really helpful for a child when he joins the kindergarten where he enjoys different group experiences and eventually expand his social circle.
There are many things you can do to build the valuable social skills and relationships that are of sole importance to flourish their self esteem and sense of belonging. If at any phase of their growth, you feel that your child is not developing social skills and socially out of tone follow the tips given below to teach them social skills, which in coming life be of great help to him and feel confidence about them.
-Always support your child, play with them and encourage them.
-Develop trust and confidence in your children right from the start.
-Develop self respect and respect for others and feelings of empathy.
-Guide them whenever they need your guidance.
-Dont punish them for making mistakes rather teach them to correct them instantly.
-Keep your attitude calm and soft. Always be positive and treat your child with love and care. Never criticize them rather be encouraging and motivating. This will help them learn things quickly and they feel comfortable to share their problems with you easily.
-When you see that their actions bothering others, give them brief reminder.
-Frequently ask them question related to their visit to neighbors or friend. How they feel when they are in others place. This will help you to realize what they exactly feel when away from home.
You can join any social skills training program as well for your child for better growth and development. However, training programs are more successful in therapy rooms, you cannot imply them outdoors.
