Cairo is always going to rank high on the list because of the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx acting as a large lure. After visiting the various museums which are home to Egypt's various archaeological discoveries and the sites where they are found, you may still have the explorers itch. If this is the case with you then you could always start your own random dig in the search for something magical, though a night in an Egyptian cell might ensue.
Alternatively, today's tourists are looking to dive deep rather than get their hands dirty in sand and mud. Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh have been turning quite a few heads thanks to its glistening shores and pristine beaches. Sun loungers are galore and the only type of digging going on that you'll find is in the form of sand castles. Of course different people like different things and the fact that Egypt is considered an all year round destination means that sun seekers can enjoy the shores of Egypt at any point over the year.
No matter what your agenda might be this year when you are considering a summer holiday Egypt can offer you what you want, unless you are looking for snow drenched mountains and ski resorts. I suppose nobody wants to spend time freezing having paid for it and with Egypt that's the last thing that will happen whether its spring, summer, autumn or winter. Egypt is certainly a holiday destination you may find yourself falling in love with.
