Green fleet disappoint for UK green holiday operator!

UK green holiday operator giant, Center parcs has tried 'going' even greener as the short break holiday operator endeavours to match customer expectations by meeting their own standards on greener transport. Customers are encouraged to walk and cycle throughout the 4 main village locations as far North as Cumbria, near Scotland and to match their fresh air- green ethos' they want their own transportation to promote and reflect environmental concerns and their contribution.

The popular wide spread four villages are massively eco-friendly as each is sufficient enough to run their own sewage plants and to recycle their own water.

Centre Parcs initially wanted an entirely green van fleet but were upset to find their demands and expectations of green commercial vehicles, was if anything, too high. The technology is just not available currently as fully electric vans have not been engineered to a high eco-engineering degree just yet.

The vehicles that Center Parcs bosses looked at were just not good enough to cater for the developing green strategy that has taken nearly ten years to put together.

The company currently operates 143 light commercial vehicles, including 25 electric vehicles and 59 company cars. These cars were all purchased outright and alongside the new fleet, the electric vehicles include 22 new mega multi-trucks and 3 Modex box vans. Scotland and the rest of the UK have produced a higher demand for greener technology and most manufacturers are jumping on board to produce them so that environmentally friendlier companies such as Center Parcs do not miss out on fleet options.
