Getting Car Insurance With No License

If you own a vehicle, there is no question that you need automobile insurance

. When you do have your license, it is relatively easy for you to obtain insurance under normal circumstances. But, no matter the situation, if you do not have a license, it may be a legal or liability issue that is forcing you to getting car insurance with no license.

The first step you need to take is to contact your local insurance providers to obtain insurance quotes. There are some companies that do not even ask if you have a valid drivers license and only for the car information so that the car itself is insured. This does not mean that you can drive the car since you do NOT have your license, but if something happens to the car, then the insurance company will cover the damage accrued.

If asked, you must explain why you are without your driver's license. If you are under suspension or revocation, the company may go ahead and give you a policy that is only good for thirty to forty-five days. This gives you enough time to re-obtain your driver's license and to keep your car insurance policy.

If you are just coming of age to drive a car, then you must pass a drivers exam. Most of the time, the insurance company will already cover you without additional coverage when you have your permit. Once you pass the exam, the company will require proof of your license and then the coverage will be extended to you.

When you go to court for having a suspended license or revocation for having no insurance in the first place, you must take proof of car insurance with you to show the court. The court will then reinstate your driving privileges. Most of the time, there will be a fine to pay in addition to court costs, so be prepared.

Even if you do not have a license, but are married to a spouse that owns a car, you may also have to be included on the insurance policy as a requirement by some insurance companies. While you are still not able to drive the car, you will still be on the policy as an excluded driver.

It really does not matter why you do not have your license, but if you own a car, or are married to somebody that owns a car, most likely, you will have to be on the car insurance policy. While some ways are simpler than others, it can be done with moderate ease.
