Get Your Kids Interested In Reading With Personalised Story Books
It is always good to get children interested in reading as early as possible
. However, in today's modern society, this can be increasingly difficult. It is often all too easy to switch on the latest games console, or sit them down in front of the most recent animated film. However, with personalised story books, you can make your kid the centre of the story, giving reading that instant appeal.
It is not really that new a concept of course. Some of the best known children's authors wrote their books with their own children, nieces, nephews or even just children they knew or looked after, in the lead role. This is true of AA Milne, Enid Blyton and Road Dahl to name but a few.
Whilst these stories were often first written to keep the children entertained, or get them off to sleep, it was in their personalisation that the appeal really came. As they became increasingly popular, it was in the fact that the children at the heart of the story were of the same age as those reading or being read to. With this in mind it is unsurprising that personalised story books are so successful.
Books are of course wonderful things, and as we get older we are drawn into stories by identifying with the role of the narrator or lead characters ourselves. This is the art of the author of course. Children, whilst so imaginative, often cannot do this immediately. By clearly casting them in the role in personalised story books, they get excited and more caught up in the story being told and become more interested in reading until the very end.
There are many places online where you can get personalised story books made for your child. Often, these can be based on popular stories in which the child takes the place of a major character.
Alternatively, many private authors could write a selection of stories just for you and your child. Indeed, many authors these days are offering to write books where the entire family are characterised. And these can be just as much fun for you to read as for your kids!
Personalised story books can appeal to children well into their teenage years too and it can often be possible to have your child placed at a central role with popular film characters and TV stars saving the world and so forth.
The types of personalised story books are as varied as the many types of books there are available. If your child is interested in space, cast them in a galactic adventure across the universe, solving problems and meeting a host of weird and wonderful creatures.
Or perhaps they are fascinated by magic? If so, cast them as the most magnificent wizard to have ever lived, fighting nasty terrors and having a lot of mischief as they go through school. There is no limit to the possibilities that are open to you.
In essence then, personalised story books can be anything you want them to be. They make for fantastic presents too; particularly when your child realises that they are the star. More than this, there are few more wonderful keepsakes for you to cherish.
