Futon Covers and my Online Search for them
A couple of years ago, I purchased a king sized cherry wood futon for my cherry wood bookcase I have in my make shift library room. At the same time, I also purchased a top of the line mattress for great comfort ability while sitting back and reading my favorite novels. I have spent numerous hours, sitting back reading and enjoying this beautiful piece of furniture, but knew it was lacking something in the look and design area, and I had put this off far too long! Now came the time to find that perfect futon cover and color that would be fitting for this great home library.
Going online, I found many sites with numerous colors and styles. I was quite surprised to find futon covers with sports memorabilia, Asian designs, teen designs, animal motifs, and even a vinyl leather look. The leather look comes in soft distressed leather or a shiny finish. Most of these came in various prints and colors. They even had matching bolsters and pillows in bright eye catching colors. It was too cool to see how many choices were available! I surely wanted something washable, as I did not want to keep having to take the futon cover off and drag it to the cleaners, as they seemed quite large and cumbersome. So, learning that the vinyl leather could be wiped clean with a damp cloth and was easy to care for, I purchased one in soft brown distressed vinyl leather.
The futon cover I chose claimed to be soft to the touch and it is! What a perfect choice it turned out to be for my library. It looks exactly like genuine leather and gives the room a worldly library look'. Easy to care for, warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and durable as well. The futon cover is more than I could have asked for. I am a happy camper.
Once I had lived with, and enjoyed this futon cover, I decided to go back online and find another one so I could change the look with my moods. This time I decided to go with an organic earth tone color of light fern green in a corduroy fabric. What a cool visual appeal and unique texture this turned out to be! Again, I am a smiling.
I had no sooner finished changing up the futon covering, when guests came to town. So, I got busy setting up the library up as a sleeping room for my guests. They told me later that they felt quite relaxed sleeping on the futon with books surrounding them, and they also loved the earth tone color futon cover that I chose for the room.
Searching online turned out to be a great experience and I recommend it for anyone who is a wee bit skeptical on buying things online. Finding the perfect futon cover was not a pain at all, as I thought it might be. I am not sure now why I waited so long to buy a cover for the futon. The color, style, added with the matching bolsters and pillows have made my library something special both for me and for any overnight guest.
