The term frequency treatment encompasses sound
, radio frequencies as well as electromagnetic frequencies. Before we explore the various forms of Frequency treatments, we should understand what a "frequency" and "wavelength" are. Sound and electrical signals are wave-like patterns and frequency is the measurement of the number of times these wave like patterns repeat themselves within a unit of time. Frequencies are usually measured in Hertz (Hz) and Hertz refers to a cycle or a "wave" per second. Sound and electrical signals also have wavelengths. That is how we hear. A sound frequency vibrates (produces a wave) between 20 to 20,000 Hz and our eardrums (which is similar to a drum) picks up that vibration creating a chain reaction within the body turning the sound wave or frequency into music or conversation. Another example would be when someone sings and emits certain high notes causing a nearby glass to shatter. In frequency treatments, our bodies respond to the sound, radio or electromagnetic frequency being emitted by a particular device and our cells begin their own vibration matching the vibrations near us or interacting with the vibration near us and it creates a chain reaction throughout our bodies.

Many people still credit Rife as one of the pioneers of energy medicine and frequency treatment.
