Financial Freedom Vs Job Security: Which Do You Want Or Need?

Freedom Vs Security
Hi there, My name is Rich Railtion, Author of Joining Forces: 5 Steps to Strengthening your relationships whilst pursuing your dreams.
Today we are going to take a look at some of the differences between financial freedom and job security as well as some of the challenges that go along with both.
If you get a steady job, you get a steady pay check, no risks, no dangers. But, you will always be working for someone else, you will never be free to do what you want to do when you want to do it, you will always have to ask the boss if you are allowed to go on holiday, take a break, buy a new computer etc.
Financial freedom means that you have enough money coming in each month to cover all your outgoings without having to work. You therefore work when and if you want to and you can have as much time off as you want, to do whatever you want in life. But, there is a lot of risk involved, for starters it is not easy, you could loose everything and there are no guarantees of a pay check.
Thing is, both have valid points.
The misunderstanding and arguments about this topic come from a case of different perspectives. Neither option is better than the other, its just that one might be more suitable for what you want to do. The freedom seekers see security as being stuck in prison. Sure, you always get your 3 meals per day, but it is the same meals, there is no variety and no choice. You are bound by things you can not control and you are not allowed to do what you want to do.
The security seekers see freedom as being lost in the desert, such a huge expanse, stretching out to the horizon on every side, no idea where to go or what to do. Pretty soon, you will get burnt from the heat and give up. So why bother?
Whats the problem?
Well, if you choose to carve out your own path in life rather than following the herd, you will meet scoffers. Scoffers are people that knock you down, that try to get you back in the herd. Trouble is, usually, these people are your friends or loved ones, they have your best interests at heart (or they believe so anyway!).
What you are doing is bravely trying to run your own life, to make your own path. The scoffers are in the herd and what they see is someone going in another direction, they think that you have lost your way and are going in the wrong direction, and so they will try to get you to join them back in the herd for your own good.
There is also another type of scoffer. These are the people, who are not your friends or family, they just dont want you to do anything different to them. Usually this scoffer is driven by fear. Fear that you will succeed and they will be stuck, fear that they cant do what you want to do, fear that you will succeed where you have failed. Fear drives you to do all kinds of stupid things. But, if you stop to examine what fear is you tend to find that it is False Expectations Appearing Real.
The best advice is to really start at the beginning. Why are you going after you own path or why are you following the herd. The answer to this question is what is going to keep you going. If you have a strong, emotive reason, you will be able to fend off all the attacks against your chosen path. If it is a really weak reason, the slightest knock will scare you off your path.
So take a minute right now to examine why you are doing what you are doing and what you want to get out of it.
