Father's Day Gifts, What Will Your Dad Think? by:Nick Bordeau

Father's Day is right around the corner

Father's Day is right around the corner. Well at least close enough to be thinking of your dad. I mean think about all he has done over the years for you. He taught you how to walk, how to throw a football, how to drive and had tried his best to keep you on the right path your entire life. Isn't it time to give a little back to him?

Many people come up with great gift ideas for dad on Father's Day. Unfortunately often times these ideas are "larger than life" ideas that are very expensive and nearly impossible to execute. But today, Neighbor Nick's is going to let you on the inside and tell you some of the best Father's Day gifts we have seen do far.

One of the most unique ideas that we have seen so far is the Draw your Dad contest held by Star-Telegram. This contest requires a child to draw a picture of their dad, and send a photograph to get the chance to win a gift certificate to a local art store. Star-Telegram believes that "this is where you tap your inner artist and create a piece of original artwork of your dad." A participant can use "crayons, markers, paints or watercolors - whatever drawing or painting tools" they could imagine to represent their father. You can learn more by visiting the Star-Telegram website.

One of the best perks for Father's Day in New York is the free stay by The Mohonk Mountain House. Here a father can stay for free for the entire month of June. On top of this dad's also get a 15% discount on the resort's gift shop as well as a 15% discount on some of the activities that the resort offers. This combined makes for one amazing Father's Day getaway. You can learn more by visiting the Mohonk Mountain House website. But do not forget to send dad off without something to pack with. So before he goes, swing by Neighbor Nick's and get him a travel set to send him off with.

While viewing the many different Father's Day opportunities we came across an exotic idea that we thought deserved some credit, racing school. The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving is offering a father child combo course for those who really want to impress dad. Through the duration of this course the combo will be placed behind the wheel of a series of high quality performance cars and have the chance to test their skills in four events from go-kart racing to an accident avoidance simulator. You can learn more by visiting the school's website, Bondurant.com.

So far we have talked about spending the day with dad or giving him something that will last a couple of days at max. Now let's talk about gifts that last. Right now think about what your dad loves the most. If its outdoors that dad likes, then make sure you fulfill that love with inspirational gift ideas from Neighbor Nick's. For fishing make sure you lure him in with a fishing lure hanger, or if he's a golfer get him a golf ball box sculpture to inspire his inner golfer. If you dad is a backyard barbecue chef then we have a wide selection of accessories to help him make the best of his backyard business.
