Fast Expanding Wildlife Tourism In India

Tiger is the national animal of India and this has a reason

. Firstly, there are many wildlife sanctuaries present in the country and most of them are promoted for the population of tigers with them. Despite of the fact that tigers are vanishing away from the forests worldwide, the wildlife tourism in India is still advertised with the help of tiger reserves present in here.

While talking of a wildlife sanctuary, most of the people get the idea of Jim Corbett Park which is based near Haldwani and Nanital in Uttarakhand and is reportedly having the largest population of tigers in India. However, this is not the only reason for its peak level popularity, as the resorts and camps arranged here lure many tourists in the current scenario.

Further, the Bandhavgarh wildlife sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh also serves the purpose for the tourists eying for a 'tiger experience'. The additional advantage with Bandhavgarh is that it's been promoted for white tigers which are not visible anywhere else in the country. However, with the declining population of tigers no one here ensures about a 'tiger viewing' but, it has provided a much needed fame to this sanctuary.

Talking of wildlife tourism in India, Ranthambore also comes in light. Based in Sawai Madhopur, this one is also seen as a tiger reserve and is the largest wildlife sanctuary of northern India. Many tour operators offers a package for the journey scheduled from Jaipur to Ranthambore. Besides this, the Bharatpur birds sanctuary is also present near to this place, where hundreds of bird species could be seen in one visit.

Most of the sanctuaries might be getting promoted through tigers but, the whole picture of wildlife tourism in India is not limited to the national animal. In the beautiful backdrops of Kerala, one can find the Periyar wildlife sanctuary which promotes itself with the higher population of elephants. Mostly, this forest is traveled through a boat as no inner road is constructed yet for a jeep safari.

Hence, it's a known fact that India is rich of tourist destinations and the wildlife reserves here are just playing a small role to pull the crowd.
