Head no further than the Marmaris marina which is home to an impressive fleet of yachts, delightful restaurants, busy bars and a shopping complex brimming with holiday souvenirs. Its a hub of activity which will allow you to enjoy the local Turkish culture while you soak up the festive sights and sounds.
Another popular destination for Turkey holidays is the resort of Didim, found just along the Mediterranean coast. Our favourite hotel is the Buyuk Anadolu Resort Hotel, which opened in 2009 just outside Altinkum. Nestled along a private beach, gardening fans will enjoy relaxing in the beautiful gardens of the hotel and forgetting about the Christmas stress back home. If youve got young children to occupy, they will no doubt love the entertainment of the nearby aqua park and waterslides.
Things to do: Didim is a great choice for water lovers and because the Aegean Sea is so calm and clear, its ideal for snorkelling, diving and water sports. Its worth booking a scenic boat trip around the Bodrum peninsula, or visiting the famous Soke Market to buy festive gifts for family and friends. A holiday to Didim also wouldnt be complete without taking in the views of the historic Ephesus, which features the temple of Artemis and is now classed as one of the best preserved ancient cities in the world. Last but not least, dont forget the other cultural must-have, a trip to a Turkish Harmam, where you can lie back and relax with a body scrub followed by a cleansing soap massage. It will certainly make your holidays to Turkey something you wont want to forget.
