Dog Training Commands

Dog Training Commands

First things first, teach your dog to sit! There are many explanations as to why you should teach it how to sit as the first command

. The behavior of sitting is actually a natural action that dogs do all the time. Another reason is simply that teaching dogs how to sit is pretty simple and easy, it something they typically learn fast! Lastly, the sit position is a great platform and starting ground for the more complex and difficult training ahead! Also when the dog is sitting, its normally more relaxed and calm, thus creating the atmosphere for further training. Sitting is the starting point to all of your training commands so definitely train your dog how to sit before anything!

The sit stance is actually the most important command that you can give your dog. For example if you are out and about and want to greet a friend but do not want your dog to jump all over the place, then you just command your dog to sit and instantly the dog will not be a nuisance. Or alternatively if you just want your dog to calm down, just say sit!

After the sit command, then comes the harder stuff! Walking your dog on a leash can be difficult at first but if you master this art having a dog will be much more pleasing and enjoyable. First decide on a side, either left or right, never front or back! Tell the dog to sit first then put on the leash and gently tug, that action will raise the dogs head. To walk your dog at first just simply be calm and in control. If you notice that your dogs misbehaving, stop and say no and then keep on, never punish your precious dog! Do not forget to praise your dog often, if he or she does the right thing with a treat or two! Dogs are smart and will learn by example so be a good leader!

After you have mastered the sitting command and walking with the leash with your dog, now youre on the next part! Everything else! Train your dog to do what you want while keeping your dog as happy as possible! Do not push your dog too hard but also do not go too easy on your dog! When the dog is younger, it tends to be a lot easier to train, so take advantage of your puppys young age! Dog Training Commands

Once the training is over, your lovely relationship with your dog can truly begin! Not to mention, everyone will be jealous of your dog and every dog will be jealous of you! Dogs are really a blessing that seems to be on this earth, just to make everyone happy! Treat your deserving dog with respect and you will surely get the same love and care in an unconditional response!
