I sometimes receive correspondence where people ask me questions like: "Do you really have any control over whether the baby you conceive is a boy or a girl?" Or, "when you are trying to get pregnant, do you have any influence over the baby's gender or are you just at the mercy of the odds of nature?" The answer to these questions depends upon which methods and regimens you use in an attempt to control or determine your baby's sex. I will discuss this more in the following article.
An Almost Foolproof Way To Control Your Baby's Gender: There is a way to pretty much have complete control over which gender you conceive. But it typically involves a doctor (or a specialist) and a lab. I'm talking about PGD or preimplantation genetic diagnosis. This is where a specialist will determine the gender of the embryos that will be implanted into the woman or mother-to-be's uterus. The success rate is almost guaranteed here because the doctor or specialist has limited the implantation to only that gender that is desired. Of course, the downside to this is that the procedure is expensive and not everyone wants to or can spend that kind of money. As an alternative, there are inexpensive and natural methods that allow you some control over which gender you will ultimately conceive.
Natural Ways To Attempt To Control Whether You Conceive A Male Or Female Baby: I believe that there are effective methods and regimens that you can try at home. And, I believe that, when done correctly, these practices can greatly improve your odds of getting the gender that you want. However, unlike the specialist in the above scenario, you can't see what's going on in your uterus. You aren't testing each sperm chromosome to see which you want to implant. But, you are using scientific principals to achieve the same goal. Here's how.In a nutshell, if you want a boy baby, then what needs to happen is you need to have a Y chromosome fertilize your egg. But, if you want a girl, then what needs to happen is an X chromosome needs to fertilize your egg. Admittedly, you can't see these chromosomes as they race to the egg. But, you can do some things to discourage those that you don't want making the trip.For example, if you want a boy, then you should know that the X chromosomes which produce girl babies (and which you really want to discourage or stop from traveling to the egg) are the longest lived of the two. You will need to find a way around this. One way around this is limiting yourself to intercourse or sex only after you know that ovulation has occurred. By doing this, you are ensuring that the more vulnerable Y's are at their most healthiest when conception is actually possible.Likewise, if you want a girl, then you should know that the boy producing Y chromosomes can beat the X's with their speed. So, the way around this is eliminating as many of these Y's as you can before their speed is allowed to come into play. One way to do that is to have sex well before your ovulation occurs. By doing this, you encourage more of the short lived Y's to die off before they can race to the egg.Another way to discourage these Y's (when you want a girl) is to make sure that your vaginal tract is acidic (since the Y's don't do well in this sort of environment.) (If you want a boy baby, you would want to make sure that your vaginal tract is alkaline instead.) People typically use food, diets, and douching to make alterations to their vaginal PH. And, they'll typically test any regimen's effectiveness using PH testing strips.So we've discussed timing and we've discussed acidity. The final variable is the sexual positions that you use when you're trying to conceive. Because of longevity issues, you want to use deeper penetration when you're trying for a boy.
