Indian festivals are known for their exuberance and vivacity. Indians indulge in shopping, buying gifts, good food and every other thing that gives them joy during festivals. This is especially true of Diwali, since it happens to be the most important Hindu festival. Starting from the first day of the five-day long Diwali, it's all about buying new items and gifts for near and dear ones. The first day, Dhanteras, is regarded as auspicious for houses and business establishments. After that, comes the main Diwali where along with bursting fire-crackers and enjoying with friends and family, exchanging gifts is also an important tradition.
