Different Ways Of Looking For A Job

Looking for a job is already a serious job. An applicant must be well prepared: looking presentable, smart, alive, and capable; having the necessary knowledge and well trained in the field s/he has chosen; and having the right attitude toward work. Sound tough? That is because job-hunting is, indeed, a competition. But achieving your goal is not impossible, especially if you know where to look.

Most jobseekers, especially fresh graduates, dont get hired immediately because they only have very few sources of job opportunities to rely on.

For instance, some only find jobs in the most traditional way through the local daily. Classified ads have numerous job postings, both here and overseas, but solely relying on them is not very effective, as an applicants opportunities would be limited.

Below are different ways by which you can find a job.Different Ways Of Looking For A Job

Networking

Research is key in finding a job. This is where your friends and relatives can help you. You may ask them if they know of any positions that you can apply for based on your work experience and/or educational background. You may also ask acquaintances or people you have previously done businesses with to help you. With your network helping you in job-seeking, you will have a wider scope and may find job in just a short time.

Online searching

The most popular way of looking for jobs now is through the Internet. There are a number of websites that cater to jobseekers. What is beautiful about online searching is that you only have to create an online account and create/upload your cover letter and updated resume with your recent picture, and then you can already start your search. What is even better is that once you have already found positions that you would like to apply for, you can apply instantly by just sending your cover letter and resume through the website.

Another good thing about online searching is, sometimes, it is the employers who do the searching by just matching their needs with your credentials and other pertinent information that you provided. With online searching, you can apply for several jobs in just one sitting. But you also have to be careful, as there are websites that are not strict with their announcements. Some job postings could be illegal.

Employment agencies

Jobseekers, especially those who are planning to work overseas, may go to employment centers or agencies. These offices have a list of readily available jobs which may fit you. All you have to do is to bring a resume or two with your application letter and you can start applying for jobs. Just make sure that the employment agency is legal and accredited by the Department of Labor and Employment and Philippine Overseas Employment Administration.

Job fairs

One of the best places to find jobs nowadays are at the job fairs. Job opportunities in different industries are being offered all at the same time at job fairs, so an applicant can apply for as many positions as possible. All you have to do is to bring several copies of your CV and other credentials because there might be several jobs right for you. The good thing about job fairs is you can be interviewed right away by prospective employers, so you also have to be prepared. You must be in smart-casual attire, have the necessary documents, and have a lot of patience, as there likely are long queues at the booths.
