Design Tips When Creating Your Own Shirt Online
There are many services that allow you to design and print up your own shirts online
, but they dont tell you how to make sure that your shirts end up being crisp, clear and above all, attractive. Whether you are designing T-shirts for a family reunion, your business, or a bar crawl, take the time to create an image that suits your needs well. A blurry t-shirt doesnt look good on anyone, and the better your understanding of the T-shirt printing process is, the more likely it is that you will get a T-shirt you like.
Instead of leaving your text as text in the image, change into outlines instead. The text that you use on your T-shirt sends a message, and part of that message is the font and sizing you use. If you have used an obscure font, make sure that the printer doesnt substitute something else if he doesnt have that font on hand. Select the font in your image program and then choose Create Outlines. This turns the text into an image for the computer, which will be faithfully reproduced.
Print out your image on a piece of paper and tape it to an existing T-shirt. Not only will this give you an understanding of how large the image is going to be when you put it on the T-shirt, you will also get a chance to see what the image will look like off of the computer screen. Something that looks great on the computer scene might suffer when it is actually printed out and put on a T-shirt, so a real-life test helps you iron out any of the wrinkles, so to speak.
Glow in the dark ink, UV color change ink and metallic ink are all wonderful tools, but remember to use them in moderation. Online T-shirt printing companies offer plenty of options, but use care when selecting what you want on your T-shirt. For example, high density ink, which rises up from the T-shirt, should only be used in small areas that dont require a lot of detail, while suede ink, which has a fuzzy, suede-like texture, should not be used over very wide or very narrow areas. Keep your design simple. A T-shirt is not a large area, and the more you put on it, the more cluttered it is going to look. Take the time to look at your image from ten feet away, and see how it looks. If it looks like a series of lines or a messy splotch, take the detail down by several notches.
Choose designs that really shine when you go to make a T-shirt online, and remember that a T-shirt doesnt have to be fancy to be good.
