There is just so much you can do to decorate your yard for Christmas, even if you have a teeny tiny yard. Everyone thinks of Christmas lights first, and that's OK, but do you know how many types of lights are available? There are strings indifferent sizes, colors, and shapes, as well as ones that blink in various ways or stay continuously lit. There are also lightnets, which are designed just like fishnets, and ideal for covering shrubs and bushes. And also lights arrays that are shaped like dripping icicles. You will find to satisfy everyone, and there are more types of lights introduced every year. Just look online or at your favorite department store and you will be amazed! You could spend weeks or months just buying and setting up a fantastic light display.
There is a lot beyond lights as well. Obviously nativity scenes and other religious decorations have been around for years and are very popular with many people. These can range from simple to elaborate and from inexpensive to large. One consideration is the size of the space that you have, and how they may blend with your other decor, both pre existing and panned.
Inflatable Christmas decorations are also extremely popular, with santas and reindeers and sleighs and snowmen well represented. Most plug into a socket, so you will need one handy or long exterior extension cords. The electricity powers a fan which blows them up and keeps them blown up. They do take significant space and be warned that you need to keep them powered on during snow storms, and if the snow is particularly heavy you may need to go and tap or push the snow off a couple of times during the storm. Kids absolutely love these, and we keep ours on a timer so it blows up after school and stays inflated until about midnight every night.
Take a stroll through your local department store near Christmas or around your neighborhood of more ideas. There is always at least one house that takes it to extremes. Although you may not want to go to extremes, you can learn what you like and what you don't like quickly.
Children and adults love Christmas decorations, and outdoor decorations are great! Put some up and spread the holiday cheer. One last tip. Look for bargains for next year shortly after December 26!
