Decorating Your Teenagers Room

Now it's time to rearrange your teen's room and redecorate it

. Originally they might have a different idea than you do but together you can compromise and make it work out to suit both of your needs.

When you and your teenager start having the talk about how they want to redecorate their bedroom, you should go into this conversation with an open mind. Chances are, their ideas are going to be very far from yours! You should, however, talk to your teen about reaching a compromise. After all, your money is going to fund this project and much to your teens disbelief, you know that in a few months their interests will change. Let them bring in a few things that they love and you put a few things of your own in that will give you a room that is easily redecorated.

Teenagers love color! Don't be afraid to let them express themselves this way. Walls are easily re-painted and comforters are easily replaced or changed. Color can easily be incorporated through pictures, picture frames, and art work. You can also add color through window treatments as well as throw pillows. If you don't want to commit to a comforter that is expensive and you know your child's color choice will change soon, use throw pillows in their favorite color to accent a solid colored, neutral comforter. This is one area that a teenager can really express themselves, and it is relatively inexpensive.

Last, but not least, let your teenager go crazy with floor coverings! Area rugs are a great way to help add to the design of a room and there are thousands of designs to choose from. If you are afraid to paint the walls lime green, let your teenager choose a lime green rug! If it's a modern look that they want, let them choose one with geometric designs in clean, crisp colors. Area rugs are easy to spot clean and can be moved around to different areas of the room to create a whole new look. You can shop for these online and order them online as well. It creates one less shopping trip for you and the rug will be delivered to your front door! Using an area rug will really help you and your teenager complete the design of their room and make it their own.Decorating Your Teenagers Room
