At first glance, dating might seem more like a young man's game than something
that a guy over the age of 40 can really have fun with and succeed in. You might have the impression that in order to have a good time and do well with women, that you need to be a young stud. Well, is that really the case? Does hitting the age of 40 really mean that you are "over the hill" when it comes to dating?You might be surprised at how off base that assumption really is.
Years ago, we are talking about 40 years or more, the age of 40 probably was a huge negative when it came to dating. Back then, you were expected to be happily married and to have everything "in order." Well, it is a new time and there are new rules. And dating over the age of 40 is not something to dread or despair. In fact, in can be a lot MORE fun than it was when you were in your early twenties!
Back then, you probably did not have much figured out about yourself or about life in general. You probably were not quite sure of who you were or what you wanted. That's probably changed quite a bit by now, and as an added bonus, you probably also have a little more cash to spend as well.
The most important thing though, is the fact that you are more in tune with who you are and what you want out of life. So, you are less likely to want to waste time with a woman who clearly is not right for you. That will help you save a lot of grief and aggravation to say the least.
There is another big PLUS in your favor for dating over the age of 40. It's a pretty popular idea that men tend to get better looking as they age. Why that is, who knows? It may have to do with the fact that you look wiser, or more manly as you get older. Still, that is only something that can BENEFIT you, as you get to strut your stuff knowing that most women probably think that you look a little better now than you did back then.
Is dating over the age of 40 a bad thing?
Not at all. It's merely what you make of it. As long as you know what you want, are confident in yourself, and you have the skills to approach women and get conversations started... you should be able to do quite well. A lot of men are surprised to find that they ENJOY dating over the age of 40 much more than they did when they were younger.
They stress out a lot less about the little things. They are not so worried about having to try and impress a woman. And if things work out and they click well with a woman, that extra cash that they have now allows them to go and do some really fun things.
If you have found yourself "back out there" and you are over the age of 40, don't sweat it. You can do just fine and have a wonderful time dating. Just remember that confidence and the ability to start conversations with women is all that you really need.
