Darjeeling is derived from the Tibetan word 'Dorje' which means a precious stone or the thunderbolt and 'ling' means place. So it is the land of thunderbolt.

We can reach Darjeeling by air, rail and by road also. The nearest airport to Darjeeling is Bagdogra. It is about 100 km from Darjeeling. The nearest and main railway station to Darjeeling is Shilliguri and from there Toy Trains are available.
Gangtok is the capital of the state of Sikkim. The beautiful Enchey Monastery and Rumtek monastery are very popular among tourists spot.
