In any month of the year the waters are warm enough to swim in and you can enjoy the numerous soft sand or pebble beaches lapped by sparkling, blue water.

Cyprus has a wide range of activities available including walking, hiking and horse riding along the trails and forests of the Akamas region, playing golf at the numerous first-rate golf courses all over the island and taking a trip to the huge number of Greek and Roman ruined villas and temples. You can see beautifully conserved examples of floor mosaics that depict mythological scenes at the remains of Roman villas in Paphos or see the charming Baths of Aphrodite located in the Akamas peninsula nature reserve, where myths recount she met her lover Adonis. Nearby is the ruined castle at Pyrgos which Aphrodite also visited.

Paphos, in the South West corner of Cyprus is a very popular area to visit. Treasures from the past abound, from the ancient catacombs to the Tomb of the Kings. Explore mysterious vaults and caves or swim in the warm clear ocean. The District of Paphos, with the magnificent Akamas Peninsula is a wonderful place for a holiday or for a retirement home. Paphos consists of two districts, Pano Paphos, the town, and Kato Paphos, the beach area. Pano Paphos has beautiful sand beaches, which include the lovely Coral Bay beach, and, bordering the ocean, the promenade where holiday makers mix with locals,strolling along in the warm evenings. It is also renowned for its medieval fort and ancient harbour but shopping is also a popular activity in modern malls and boutiques in Paphos town.
