Having recently completed our granddaughter's first Birthday my daughter and I sat down to start to brainstorming some possible inexpensive, yet fun, ideas for future birthdays. Since we had encountered some issues with the selection of cake, as she only made one type, we decided that cupcakes would be the perfect solution to providing a cake for every party guest's taste buds. From there it spring boarded into a party that was completely themed around the ever popular cupcake. From the invitations, to the games, to the cake and finally even the party favors to take home. Here are 4 ideas that we came up with.
1.) The invitations can be shaped as Cupcakes and easily made from construction paper. Depending on the birthday child's age they could participate in making the party invitations. We decided that not only would you include time, place, and date but along with the RSVP you can request the guest's preferred flavor of cupcake and frosting.

3.) Games were easy to come up with. Pin the cherry on the top of the cupcake. Getting inexpensive little aprons in bulk or making simple white aprons to be decorated and taken home as party favors will also keep all of the party participants engaged and busy.
4.) Making sure that everyone is a winner and goes home with a prize is easy if you allow each child to get creative and decorate a few cupcakes. Not only will they have fun but they can take them home at the end of the party as a prize.
Cupcakes are perfect for little tyke's birthdays. Use them as a party favor or make it a cupcake themed event and let everyone become creative chefs. Cupcake themed parties are fun to plan and you can even involve your children in the decisions and preparation making the party process fun even before the big day arrives.
