Cross "Toilet Train Dog" Off the List

Your dog has that silly "Who me?" look on his or her face. Even with its adorable mug, you won't forgive it this time. This is the last time you will allow it to create a sea in the middle of your floor. It's time to potty train it for good and cross "toilet train dog" off the list.

There are many effective methods to toilet train a dog. Each one has its positives and negatives. You can train it to go outside, which is a popular solution. This is easy, as you don't need to worry about clean up too much, and the dog can get used to this quickly. Your neighborhood might have rules about letting a dog use the scenery as a bathroom though, and this is impossible in an apartment setting, such as in a city. The newspaper method is another classic. It allows the dog to go inside, and you can quickly scoop up the paper and deposit it afterwards. You might have to deal with a long walk to the outside garage can though, as it'll stink up your house if you get rid of it inside. People also put the newspaper in the dog cage, which is great for trips and such. If you have a young dog though, it might not be comfortable going to the bathroom in the same place that it sleeps every night. A dog trainer is another option. You can pay someone to potty train your dog for you. This can be expense, but the results are fast, and you might enjoy not having to look after your "child" for a few days.

A new method showing up of late are indoor pet potty grass, in which it is an pad that you lay on the ground that emulates a natural environment, and the dog uses as a bathroom. Spills aren't a problem, as the product can usually handle a large amount of liquid. You might not like having to empty the tray though, or having to deal if your dog decides to grace the pad with droppings. There are many solutions to the problem, each one being better suited for a different household.
