Create The Best Ads For Kids

Are you engaged in a business that targets kids

? If you are, this article is for you.

You probably know by now that kids are a special market. I mean special because you have to adopt a different strategy for kids. It may not be as complex as your marketing strategy for adults, but just the same, the strategy requires you to think and act like them. You might find this silly but it is true. To understand them, you have to think and act like them. I am not saying that you have to make a fool of yourself. This is just to suggest that you have to put yourself in their shoes in order to understand how they would respond to your strategies.

Here are a few tips that I have put together from various sources and from my involvement in developing marketing strategies for kids. Yippee! Lets go!

1. Popular Cartoon Characters

Just think about Dora the Explorer or the naughty Bart Simpson or the square fellow named Sponge Bob and you would get the idea. These characters help sell. Imagine having one of them in your brochures or flyers in full color printing. Kids would certainly go ga-ga over anything with these characters. Talk to a color printer; they can help you give life to these characters for all your printing requirements.

2. Idol Kids

Notice the kids in commercials? If you have been paying attention on the details, let me tell you that kids in commercials are often a little older, a little smarter and a little more perfect than your average kids. Why? Because they will serve as role models. Idol kids are what the advertisers want their audience to think they want to be like. Think about a cute little 12 year old girl playing with a doll that cries and drinks milk that is better suited for eight year olds. Those eight year olds look up to older kids and emulate whatever they are doing or playing with.

3. Kid Settings

Kids adore environment they are familiar with. Playground, school yards, amusement parks these are some locations kids will most likely identify with. By using these locations, the kids will be more comfortable and thus, more accepting and trusting. You can also try family settings; these will also make them feel more at home.

4. Sounds for Kids

Music designed for kids are generally more upbeat and more repetitive. Use music that kids will easily identify with. Sounds can make kid shampoos, clothing, and toys seem more appealing. Music sets the mood and the process of conditioning begins with the very first note.

5. Showcase Family Activities

Highlight activities that the whole family can do together. For instance, show the family playing your board games or eating at your restaurant. These things register to young kids and it is important for them to remember you because, based on my own experience, they have the final say on where you will eat. Highlight this and parents will also support your products because they are perceived to bring more family togetherness.

With all of these tips, what is important is for you to build excitement into each one. Watch the expressions on children's faces to know how your ad is faring. Never a dull moment, never boring that should be your guiding principle.
