Compulsive hoarding isa disease which affected half million of people in USA, most of the people affected by the disease not even aware they affected by the disease, they exhibit a frantic excessivehoarding of things which is of little or no value, at their place, some hoarders do shopping to buy things, some pick it from garbage or scrap shops, they have lot sentiments towards the things collected, they cannot throw the things collected even it becomes very excessive, hampers every day living by blocking the space of house, some hoarders, as documented hoards thing even in toilet, some block the pathway, whole things becomes totally hazardous, the papers and cardboards which they collect, usual of this nature, easily catches fires, incase fire accident the rescue operation is hampered due to excessive thing cluttered allover the place,the person affected would totally inaccessible, rodent and cockroaches can easily breed, they always live in unorganized and unhygienic place.

Compulsive hoarding does not have single medicine as treatment, this disease is related to obsessive compulsive disorder, One of the treatments that are available to treat the symptoms of compulsive hoarding is medication. Research studies have shown some compulsive hoarders that have taken antidepressant medications such as citalopram (Celexa), escitalopram (Lexapro), fluoxetine (Prozac), fluvoxamine (Luvox), paroxetine (Paxil), and sertraline (Zoloft) have responded well to them, but many have not. The purpose of these medications is to increase the level of serotonin activity in the brain. But, overall, people with compulsive hoarding do not appear to respond as well to the medications as do people with other kinds of obsessive-compulsive disorders

other than medication, behavior therapy work well in this case, the behavioral therapist goes the place of compulsive hoarders, stays with him, inculcates a organized habits andencourages him to take objective decision in disposing the unwanted things. the compulsive hoarder by nature very sentimental about the things they possess, they very afraid to throw things, they feel they might take wrong decision, things they indented to throw might be needed in future.

The family membersshould encourages the hoarder to cooperate with therapist.The motivation of compulsive hoarders is very essential in success of the treatment
