Combivent Inhaler Provides Reinforcement to Regular Treatment of COPD

Combivent Inhaler is a bronchodilator aerosol in the form of an oral inhaler, with the active ingredients ipratropium bromide and albuterol sulphate in metered form. Combivent Inhaler is manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim and contains a microcrystalline suspension of ipratropium bromide and albuterol sulfate in a pressurized metered-dose aerosol unit for oral inhalation administration.

Combivent Inhaler Indications

This Inhaler is used for treating patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) already using a regular inhaler but who continue to exhibit symptoms of bronchospasm and need an additional bronchodilator boost. Physicians recommend two inhalations four times a day. In fact, it is recommended that the daily number of inhalations should not exceed 12. Each actuation meters 21 mcg of ipratropium bromide and 120 mcg of albuterol sulfate from the valve and delivers 18 mcg of ipratropium bromide and 103 mcg of albuterol sulfate (equivalent to 90 mcg albuterol base) from the mouthpiece.

The Combivent Inhaler comes in the form of a white mouthpiece that has a clear, colourless sleeve and an orange protective cap. The manufacturer recommends that the Combivent Inhaler be used with the Inhalation Aerosol mouthpiece alone. Each canister provides sufficient medication for 200 actuations.

Combivent Inhaler Side Effects
