Darkfall sets a goal to support large-scale territorial conflict between player clans
. Because of this, building empire through conquering pre-made cities is expected to be a major part of the game. a finite number of pre-made cities have been stated by the game developers, which is done with the purpose of promoting such conflict. Pre-made city and hamlet sites with huge potential power are marked with structures which are known are clanstones. These pre-made city sites are spreading over the entire world, and they are changing according to location, surrounding terrain, access to nearby resources nodes, and consequently, the capability of being defended by the owning clan. Player clans have some power, such as full diplomatic control other player clans, and capable of declaring war on other clans unilaterally.
