Christmas is a Memorial to the Virgin Mary

(Page 128: Good News to make you Happy. Jehovah Witness Publication)

This quotation is one of a thousand and one doubts expressed against the popular festival called Christmas. It is celebrated to mark the birth of Christ. Many theologians, scholars, researchers, even ordinary people are questioning the origins of this festival. To some it is a mere fabrication; to other it is a pagan festival celebrating some faded, unknown god!

Whatever the case, nothing has been able to stop this festival from going on. Even if it were a pagan festival there certainty must have been a historical event that triggered it into motion. To discover the truth behind it one has to dig deep into ancient history and mysteries, not forgetting the languages we speak, place and personal names. I want to examine the paraphernalia that go with the festivity:

The date; the greetings; the evergreen tree; the carols; the bells; candles etc.

I cannot deal with all these in just one article; and therefore for now, I want to examine the significance on the no 25. The others will follow in a series. The features of the festivity mentioned above have some hidden stories to tell. They are symbols, reminders, memories of a great event that took place in an unfathomable past the facts of which have become so twisted and marred that the truth has become a puzzle!

Christmas as we celebrate it today never happened that way. It is a memorial deliberately crafted to help people remember some person or the event that brought it into being. Now I ask the question: who started the festival? Some fingers will quickly point at Rome, the cradle of Christianity, and its founder the Emperor Constantine. They say it was this emperor who in AD 325 at a council in Nicaea (now Turkey) enforced the date 25th December as Christmas day. (Page 68, the Marian Conspiracy by Graham Phillips)

Before this pronouncement, Rome already celebrated a feast that closely resembled Christmas. It was called "SATURNALIA". The nomen clature< Saturnalia> is the source of the name of the planet Saturn, 6th in distance from the sun and the name of the 7th day Saturday written in Latin as< DIES SACRA SATURNI>. In the Bible the No 7 IS not found wanting. It refers to God! The God who rested on the 7th day.

Same Rome worshipped the sun god Mithras, the Persian god. This god was said to have been born on the 25th December (pages 40: The JESUS MYSTERIES. GRAHAM PHILLIPS). The word "MITRE (mitra) describes the pompous headdress worn by the pope and other ecclesiastical dignitaries. It is in the shape of M, symbol of the virgin. This symbol was engraved on the coffin of the late Pope John Paul that died on Friday 8-4-05. He was a great admirer of the Virgin Mary and inscribed on his Papal Coat of arms "TOTUS TUUS MARIA," (All yours Mary)

In another instance, AD 537, 25th December, Roman Emperor Justinian built a magnificent church on the soil of Romania in Constantinople and dedicated it to the virgin mary (page3:< Mohammed> Maxime Rodinson). As my search went on, I discovered that before AD1752,the calendar started on 25th march and ended in February. This our month of December used to be the 10th (Latin Decem). The 25th of March marked the beginning of northern spring. The astrologers too say that the constellation "VIRGO" used to show on the northern Latitudes during the month of December.

The ancients named the 25th of March, Lady Day as well as ANNUNCIATION DAY, the day the angel Gabriel announced to Mary. Clever ancients! From 25th march___25th December add up to 9 months the normal gestation period.

The ancient mystics observed 4 spiritual ages that rotate like the 4 seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter). The first age was golden age marked at 50 years, its symbols (, 7,) both symbols are called Libra which means balance (a yoke)

The second age was silver celebrated at 25th years.

The 3th age was the bronze and the last Iron Age.

The silver year or anniversary is celebrated on the 25th, half of 50, half of the balance.

Silver is the metal of the moon according to alchemists. The moon is one of the features of Shekinah, the mother, the better half of God. (Pages 29 THE CONCISE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF LIVING FAITHS. EDITED BY R.C.ZAEHNER 1977)

The 25th day December celebrates the moon goddess, Diana of Ephesus (Bible Acts 19:21ff) Diana also known as "ARTEMIS" was celebrated in ancient Greece under the name "ARTEMISION" in March-April. The goddess Diana was the original "VIRGO" (VIRGIN). The word "virgin" today has been watered down. It has lost its true significance. The ancient "Virgo" was the all-powerful. Personality of godheadthe Visible Counterpart of God. She was not the "small girl" we have been forced to believe. she was nobody's toy!

Her greatness characterized by epithets, titles, appellations, surnames has all been transferred to the "Virgin" we know today as Mary. Read the Lofty titles of Virgin Mary (Catholic's Pocket Prayer Book)

Examples: Virgin most powerful, Virgin most renowned, Tower of David, Tower of Ivory, House of Gold, Ark of the Covenant. How did Mary come by these titles? What did she do? The Virgin (Virgo) is a real historical personality, known by many other names. Her true name was Rahma. Rahma is the name born by the city of Roma (Roma). The truth about her has been hidden. When the truth is known, all doubts related to the person of Christ will cease forever!
