We depart from Thessaloniki exploring the many interesting archaeological sites such as the ancient city walls, the Archaeological Museum, Agios Georgios Church, the Roman Rotonda and the Arch of Triumph of Emperor Galerius, which was built on 303 B.C. The next town is Kavala, built on the ancient city of Neapolis, the first city in Europe to accept Christianity.
Next town is Kalambaka in Thessalia, beneath the majestic rocks of Meteora and our itinerary next takes us to Athens and Piraeus Port, where we set off on a 3-day cruise to the Greek Islands and Turkey. The first island on our way is Mykonos, the marvelous cosmopolitan holiday hotspot that combines an international jet-set atmosphere and stimulating nightlife, with whitewashed houses and flowered balconies.
The next island is Rhodes, the island of roses. The capital lies outside and within the walls of a very well preserved Venetian castle, built by the Knights of St.John. From Rhodes we take a boat trip to Kusadasi, Turkey, where we can visit the ancient city of Ephesus. In the afternoon, we arrive in Patmos, the tranquil island where John the Apostle wrote the Book of Revelations and we visit the monastery of St. John and the Holy Grotto of the Revelation.
Return to Piraeus and from there we begin our tour to the Peloponnese visiting Corinth and the ruins of the ancient city. Our tour ends in Athens with a sightseeing tour where we visit the world-famous Athens Acropolis, and other archaeological sites.
Our clients may also choose a Christian Tour which departs from Istanbul, the pearl of the East and the jewel of the West, an amalgamation of civilizations, cultures and religions. From Istanbul we continue our tour and visit Pergamum where the Romans executed the first Christians.
Next town is Kusadasi where we can enjoy a brief trip to Ancient Ephesus, another one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. The Apostle John was one of the early leaders of the Church of Ephesus. We return to Kusadasi for embarkation on a cruise to Patmos, Rhodes, Heraklion Crete and Santorini.
