Children Panic Attack - Protect Their Innocence
A children panic attack is probably the worst type of panic attack there is
. It is already excruciatingly difficult for a person to have a panic attack disorder; it is especially more painful for a parent to have a child who has one. Every burden of any child is a double load to the parents, is what they say.More and more children all over the globe have been observed to have a panic attack disorder. No one knows how panic attacks in children became rampant, but it is a reality we all have to deal with. This classification of panic attack is very disappointing as kids should be seen running around parks, and not cowering in fear inside their houses.
Is this an inherited or a leaned trait? There is no definite answer to that question yet. Theories have it that this disorder can be passed on to the next generation. Therefore, there is a great chance that the children of people who have a panic attack disorder, will have the same disorder.
Generalized anxiety disorder in children is your next suspect. Be mindful that any form of anxiety can and will escalate to a panic attack if it is left unmanaged. Children with this type of anxiety are observed to be anxious of everything and anything in their lives. Not a very fun childhood I reckon.
Another very common anxiety disorder in kids is separation anxiety. Although it is most commonly observed during the first few days of school, there are some children who never learn to let go of their loved ones on a daily basis. For example, this kid cannot be left home with a nanny, even if you will only be gone for a few minutes.
Those are only few of the possible reasons for children panic attack. We can also talk about the treatment, but you have to understand that their treatment is never going to be the same as an adult's. Their treatment is definitely more complicated and requires more patience. It has to be specific to the cause of the panic attack.
The treatment is always in conjunction with the cause, and it must start at home. Remember that it is at home that we should be receiving the greatest amount of love and understanding. Those are the two exact things that a child in treatment should have - love and understanding. One good example of this is when you get out of the house; do not leave your child unaware of your whereabouts. Always let them know where you are going, for how long you will be gone and at what time can they expect you to be back.
My final tip is to take the child's woes seriously. Listen to both verbal and non-verbal cues. Remember that you are dealing with children and they do not have the capacity to express everything they feel verbally and in detail.
