From the time that they can walk, many little girls dream of one day taking to the
stage and performing in a professional dance production or tumbling and flipping before a crowd at a sporting event. Encouraging the vision of graceful movement and beauty in their children, a number of parents enroll their young ones in ballet, gymnastics, or other activities that are designed to improve balance, promote strength and increase flexibility.Often practicing for hours on end to prefect a pose or complete a difficult action teachers work with their students to develop the mental and physical attributes that require discipline and focus to accomplish masterful moves. Through the rehearsals and increasing complexities that are placed on the dancer or athlete there are moments of triumph and disappointment, but for those that are truly committed to their craft the applauds and accolades that await the patient young women are well worth the sacrifices that they have made to become the best at what they do. Taking on the challenge of a professional career in either ballet or gymnastics requires constant training that fills a schedule for anywhere from six to eight hours a day. In some cases an Olympic medal is the prize that awaits that victor in others a chance to perform on stage at a recognized cultural center in front of an appropriately attired formal audience is the motivation that keeps them moving toward their childhood dream.
The serious competitors can usually be found early in the morning, dressed in a short sleeve leotard ready to spend the wee hours practicing before school and again returning to the gym or dance studio to refine their skills and work into the evening to put in the time needed to develop a series of drills that will elevate them to the level that wins over the on looking spectators and gains national attention. While there are only a few women that excel to the rank of championship status from the disciplines that they have devoted their lives to, there are many little girls that participate in the fun and challenging feats that entertain and thrill audiences throughout their formative years.
With the undying support of their parents and the images of their recitals or competitive performances captured on video the visions of beautiful young woman giving their all for the disciplines that they love will live on forever and may passed on to other generations that continue to dream of dancing and gymnastics.
