The summer is obviously the best time of the year for every girl and boy who spends the year toiling away in the classroom
. They get to hang up their kids school uniforms and their Jansport bookbags in favor of whatever their favorite pool toy is. There are vacations and summer camps, amusement parks and days simply playing their hearts out in the backyard. Summer time is full of stimulation and relaxation for youngsters and while we might be envious of their freedom we know that kids need these periods of respite. The summer is also, as indicated by back to school shopping in August, a time for drastic growth spurts.
When your kids school uniforms go in the closet or into the attic in June you generally consider that come the fall were you to be in a pinch you could simply use those uniforms until you got around to getting new ones. Often though this is not the case. It is almost impossible to predict your child's growth with out some sort of expert scientific analysis. You look at the inches added to the lengths of pant legs and shirt sleeves astounded at the magic of nature transforming your little boy or girl into little men and women. Those school uniforms highlight these transitions better than any other clothing that your child will ever own.
Buying new kids school uniforms is a great ritual each year. It marks the passing of time in a unique way. There is simply seasonal changes but for parents the changes you can see occurring each and every day in their children are the most astounding. These periods of growth and these moments are worth cherishing for parents because once they have passed they have for good. Once the school uniforms are put away completely in favor of a college sweatshirt you will be able to reflect on watching your children grow and develop into the people that they become.
