Celebrity Shoes At Auction

Celebrity Shoes At Auction

Shoes previously owned by a few very generous celebrities have been put on an online auction site to raise money for charity.

Shoes have been donated from celebrities such as Pearl Lowe, Barbara Windsor, Jude Law and Denise Van Outen.

The celebrities have donated their shoes to Kiwis Shoe Aid for Africa campaign which was set up two years ago with the intention of sending shoes to people living in Tanzania.

Denise Van Outen has been revealed as ambassador for the campaign and she has already donated a red pair of womens shoes to the auction on eBay.

Speaking to website London Net she explained that wearing shoes is something we all take for granted here in the UK and that is why she was keen to get involved in the charitable campaign.

She said: "The simple luxury of wearing shoes is something we all take for granted. The conditions Africans face are unimaginable to those who haven't experienced them first hand. I think it's so important to help with a fundamental need such as this - providing footwear to children so that they can deal with day-to-day challenges with some comfort in their lives."

Kiwi has teamed up with Soles4Souls to send footwear to Africa and to make sure they go to those people who need them most.

Since launching the campaign two years ago, the charity has sent hundreds of thousands of shoes to families in Africa and this year the organisers and celebrities are hoping that up to 100,000 pairs could be sent over to Tanzania.

Denise hopes that people will bid on eBay for a chance to experience what it really is like to walk in a celebritys footsteps while also raising money for a good cause.

She added: Im hoping punters will bid more than they would usually on eBay, not only because this is a worthwhile cause but because a lot of these celebrity shoes have a tale to tell."
